Minimum Requirements
• Matric certificate or equivalent qualification
• Competent B Certificate (pre-requisite)
• Competent A Certificate (advantageous)
• Medically fit for work in a mining environment
• Valid First Aid Certificate
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical work within a mining environment
• Basic understanding of electrical systems, safe work procedures, and electrical codes
• Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Physically capable of lifting heavy equipment and parts
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools
• Understanding of electrical safety rules and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities
• Perform basic electrical tests and measurements to ensure proper functioning of equipment and systems
• Ensure tools and equipment are in good working order; assist with maintenance and troubleshooting
• Assist Electrician in inspecting electrical systems and components, identifying faults, and supporting repairs
• Carry materials, clean the work area, and maintain a safe working environment
• Support the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems
• Carry out cable terminations as required
