Maintenance Technician Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Start-up and Running of Processing Plant: Oversee the efficient operation of the processing plant, ensuring all systems are running smoothly.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance to ensure all equipment is functioning optimally.
- Fault Finding and Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Ordering and Tracking Spare Parts: Order and track the delivery of essential spare parts, ensuring minimal delays.
- Daily Breakdown Management: Address any breakdowns within the processing plant on a daily basis.
- Continuous Improvement Program Implementation: Maintain and enhance the continuous improvement program (20 keys), ensuring operational efficiency.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Management: Implement and monitor safety and environmental policies in the workplace.
Requirements for Success:
- Qualified Electrician (Red Seal): Must hold a valid Red Seal qualification as an Electrician.
- Minimum 2 Years Maintenance Experience: At least two years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- PLC Experience: Proven experience with PLCs is required.
- MEYN Evisceration Equipment Knowledge: Experience with MEYN evisceration equipment is a plus.
- Computer Literate: Proficiency in MS Office and basic computer applications.
- Ammonia Experience: Knowledge of ammonia systems will be advantageous.
- Driver’s License and Transport: Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to Work in a Multi-Skilled Environment: Must be proactive, eager to learn, and demonstrate initiative.
- Strong Administrative and Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational abilities are essential.
- Ability to Cope Under Pressure: The candidate must be resilient and adaptable to high-pressure situations.
- Overtime and Shift Flexibility: Must be willing to work overtime, shifts, and on standby as required.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; additional languages will be advantageous.
