TMM Electrician Vacancy – Gold One Group Limited

Gold One Group Limited is currently recruiting a TMM Electrician to join its TMM Engineering division in Brakpan. This permanent position is ideal for experienced electricians with a background in Trackless Mining Machinery (TMM) maintenance and electrical systems within the mining industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of trackless mining machinery, ensuring that equipment operates safely and efficiently in accordance with mining safety standards and company procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12 certificate

• N2 Certificate or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering

• Section 13 or Section 26 Electrical Trade Test from a recognised institution

• Minimum 3 years of experience working as a TMM Electrician in a mining environment

• Strong independent judgment, initiative, and interpersonal communication skills

• Proficiency in English and any other South African official language

• Must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of TMM electrical procedures, policies, and practices

• Must be a South African citizen

• Clear criminal record

Machinery and Equipment Experience (Advantage)

Experience with the following mining machinery will be beneficial:

• Sandvik equipment

• CAT Back/Front Loaders

• CAT machinery and Dozers

• Manitou equipment

• Fermel mining machinery

• Sandvik Drill Rigs and Bolters

Candidates with experience working on trackless mining equipment and heavy-duty underground machinery will have an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

• Working shift cycles as required in mining operations

• Conducting fault finding and diagnostic assessments on electrical systems

• Performing maintenance and repairs on Trackless Mining Machinery (TMM)

• Assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical apparatus and components

• Performing detailed troubleshooting and fault analysis

• Preparing rough sketches, maintenance plans, and cost estimates for repair work

• Reporting maintenance activities and technical issues to supervisors

• Managing and maintaining equipment within the assigned area of responsibility according to prescribed standards

• Performing preventive maintenance on switchgear and transformers

• Ensuring that fire suppression systems, alarms, and electrical emergency systems remain fully operational
