Are you passionate about electrical maintenance and looking to grow your career in bulk water and sanitation services? An exciting opportunity is available for two Electrician Assistants to support Electrical Technicians and Artisans within Bulk Water Services Operations in Rietvlei, Glenvista.

This role is ideal for candidates with an Electrical Engineering qualification who want hands-on experience in plant and pump station environments.

Job Overview – Electrician Assistant (Bulk Sanitation)

The Electrical Assistant will support the Electrical Technician and Artisan with:

• Performing minor electrical repairs

• Carrying and managing tools on-site

• Cleaning and maintaining Motor Control Circuit (MCC) rooms

• Assisting with electric motor testing and cable joints

• Conducting plant and pump station electrical inspections

• Reporting unsafe conditions to the Supervisor or Artisan

• Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards

This is a practical, field-based role focused on electrical maintenance, safety compliance, and operational support in bulk water infrastructure.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this Electrician Assistant position, applicants must meet the following:

• Grade 12 or N3 in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current)

• N6 in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) will be an added advantage

• Knowledge of electrical tools and equipment

• Ability to perform minor electrical repairs

• Understanding of OSHA regulations and safe working procedures

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying and handling hand tools safely

• Cleaning MCC rooms and work areas after job completion

• Assisting in electric motor testing and cable jointing

• Conducting electrical inspections at plants and pump stations

• Reporting hazards and unsafe conditions immediately

• Supporting compliance with health and safety regulations
