Key Responsibilities – Electrician Job in Stanger
As an Electrician at Sappi, your main duties will include:
• Performing electrical maintenance and remedial work according to SAP notifications, work orders, and planned maintenance schedules, including shutdown periods.
• Capturing and completing work orders and notifications on the SAP system.
• Conducting fault-finding on electrical systems during breakdowns and carrying out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Participating in failure analysis to improve long-term plant reliability.
• Completing daily and weekly inspections on electrical systems using detailed checklists.
• Identifying repair requirements and recommending preventative maintenance to the Foreman.
• Drawing required spare parts from Stores using SAP picking lists.
• Assisting production teams with electrical isolation processes when required.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring plant availability, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
To qualify for this Electrician vacancy at Sappi, you must meet the following requirements:
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• N2 Electrical Engineering or Millwright qualification
• Recognised Electrician or Millwright Trade Test Certificate
• Minimum 3 years’ experience post trade as an Electrical Artisan
Added Advantages
• N3 Electrical Engineering or Millwright qualification
• Completion of Sappi Internal Artisan Development Programme or Apprenticeship
• SAP experience within a manufacturing environment
• Valid driver’s licence
• Ability to work under pressure while strictly following procedures and safety standards
