This Boilermaker Learnership opportunity is based at Black Rock Mine Operations, located approximately 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape.
Boilermaker Learnership Programme 2026
Assmang Pty Ltd is seeking skilled, motivated, and dedicated individuals who want to grow and develop within the mining and engineering sector.
This learnership is part of the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) artisan development programmes. Training is structured around registered unit standards, allowing learners to accumulate credits on the MQA database as they achieve competency.
Upon successful completion of all required unit standards:
• An official MQA certificate will be issued
• A formal Trade Test must be completed to qualify as a Boilermaker
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the mining industry while working towards becoming a Trade-Tested Artisan.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Educational Requirements
• N2 with the following subjects:
• Mathematics (Not Mathematics Literacy)
• Engineering Science
• Plater’s & Structural Drawings
• Plater’s Trade Theory
• Grade 12 Certificate with Mathematics and Science
• N2/N3 Engineering Studies
Additional Requirements
• Valid Driver’s License Code B/EB (Advantageous)
• Dover “B” Symbol (Required)
• Must pass the Technical Test Battery Assessment
• English literacy (required)
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
