Job Purpose
The Artisan Assistant will be responsible for maintaining the overall efficiency of plant equipment and systems on site. The role focuses on technical support, troubleshooting, system maintenance, and responding to breakdowns to ensure continuous production.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance
• Conduct on-the-job training where required
• Assist with plant and system upgrades
• Perform routine system maintenance
• Attend to equipment breakdowns and emergency repairs
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the plant
Minimum Qualifications
• Grade 12
• N3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Experience Requirements
• Minimum 1 year experience in a production factory
• 2 years’ experience as an Artisan Assistant (strong mechanical skills will be an added advantage)
Skills and Competencies
• Strong engineering knowledge
• Understanding of industry standards and regulations
• Knowledge of OHS Act legislation
• Familiarity with quality management principles
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication skills

Working Conditions
• Factory environment (hot and noisy) – must have own tools
• Working with heavy equipment and plant machinery
• 6-day work week with shift work
• Required to work Saturdays, Sundays, Public Holidays, and Night Shifts as per roster
• Overtime and after-hours work may be required
