Redpath South Africa is seeking a qualified Underground Electrician to join operations at Mogalakwena Mine in Limpopo. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment within underground mining infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and production standards.
Minimum Requirements
• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Section 13 Trade Test or Section 26D as a qualified Electrician
• Medium Voltage (MV) Certificate – compulsory
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Proven fault-finding skills
• Valid driver’s licence
• Medically fit to work underground
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Underground Electrician
• Electrical installation, repair, and maintenance in decline infrastructure
• Workshop procedures, installation, and maintenance practices
• Installation and maintenance of machinery, including HT switchgear
• Knowledge of Mine Health & Safety Act and related regulations
• Strong understanding of environmental, health, and safety standards
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Commitment to maintaining high engineering quality standards

• Report all incidents and accidents accurately and timeously
• Conduct risk assessments before every task
• Ensure tools and equipment are safe, sufficient, and in good condition
• Perform all legal inspections and maintain accurate records
• Identify and report unsafe conditions and unsafe acts
• Adhere to planned maintenance schedules
• Maintain proper housekeeping in workshops and work areas
• Execute planned maintenance according to approved schedules
