Job Overview

Eskom is currently recruiting an Engineering Assistant – Lines & Servitudes to support Transmission Lines operations within the North East Grid. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing power line inspections, servitude maintenance, defect repairs, and emergency restoration to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous electricity supply across the transmission network.

This role is ideal for qualified electrical artisans with experience in lines and servitudes, transmission networks, and high-voltage environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct power line inspections, servitude maintenance, and hardware defect repairs

• Perform line fault investigations and reporting

• Assist in emergency restoration operations during power line outages

• Ensure strict compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) policies

• Operate, inspect, and maintain approved tools and line equipment

• Support stakeholder and customer relations in operational areas

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Trade Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Light or Heavy Current)

• NQF Level 4 with 120 credits

Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ experience on NTCSA network and discipline-related equipment

• Experience in Lines and Servitudes will be essential
