Rainbow Chickens is seeking a qualified and trade-tested Boilermaker to join its Chicken Agriculture Division in Worcester. This role is suited to a skilled artisan with strong mechanical and civil maintenance experience, as well as proven supervisory capability within an FMCG or agricultural environment.
Role Purpose
The Boilermaker will be responsible for the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of agricultural machinery, boilers, and structural components, while supervising a maintenance team and working closely with production to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
• Perform boilermaking, fabrication, welding, and structural repairs
• Maintain and repair boilers, agricultural machinery, and plant equipment
• Conduct planned, preventive, and breakdown maintenance
• Supervise and coordinate the work of handymen, assistants, and apprentices
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards
• Work closely with the production team to minimize downtime
• Compile maintenance reports, job cards, and technical analysis
• Mentor and train apprentices and junior staff
• Participate in standby duties, call-outs, and after-hours work
• Maintain housekeeping and adherence to company workmanship standards
Minimum Qualifications
• Trade Certificate as a Boilermaker
• Strong mechanical and civil maintenance experience
• Valid driver’s license (Code 8 or Code 10) – compulsory
Required Experience
• Minimum 3 years’ post-trade maintenance experience in an FMCG or industrial environment
• Previous experience working on coal boilers will be an added advantage
• Proven experience repairing agriculture-related machinery and equipment
• Demonstrated supervisory and team leadership experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
• Ability to lead and manage a large maintenance team
• Strong communication skills across all organizational levels
• Computer literacy (MS Office)
• Ability to work systematically and under pressure
• Strong planning and workload prioritization skills
• Experience in report writing and maintenance analysis
• Capability to mentor and develop apprentices and assistants
• Physically fit and able to work in hot and cold environments
• High attention to detail, quality, and safety standards

• Must be willing to work required hours, including standby and call-outs
