Rainbow Chicken is currently recruiting two (2) qualified Maintenance Artisans to join its Chicken Agriculture Division in Worcester. This role is ideal for a trade-tested Millwright or Electrician with strong mechanical and civil maintenance experience, as well as proven supervisory skills in a fast-paced FMCG or agricultural environment.
Role Purpose
The Maintenance Artisan will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of agricultural machinery, equipment, and infrastructure. The successful candidate will supervise a team of assistants and handymen, while working closely with the production team to ensure minimal downtime and optimal productivity.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
• Perform preventive, planned, and breakdown maintenance on agricultural and poultry-related machinery
• Repair, maintain, and service mechanical, electrical, and civil infrastructure
• Supervise and coordinate the work of handymen, assistants, and apprentices
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and quality standards
• Support production teams to achieve operational targets
• Conduct inspections and fault-finding on equipment and facilities
• Prepare maintenance reports, job cards, and analysis reports
• Mentor and train apprentices and junior staff
• Participate in standby, call-outs, and after-hours maintenance
• Maintain good housekeeping and adherence to company standards
Minimum Qualifications
• Trade Certificate as a Millwright or Electrician
• Strong mechanical and civil maintenance experience
• Valid driver’s license (Code 8 or Code 10) – compulsory
Required Experience
• Minimum 3 years’ post-trade maintenance experience within an FMCG or agricultural environment
• Previous experience in a poultry or farming environment will be an added advantage
• Proven experience repairing agriculture-related machinery and equipment
• Demonstrated supervisory and team leadership experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
• Ability to supervise and manage a maintenance team effectively
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all organizational levels
• Computer literacy (MS Office)
• Strong planning, organizing, and workload prioritization skills
• Systematic approach to maintenance and problem-solving
• Experience in report writing and maintenance analysis
• Ability to mentor and develop apprentices and assistants
• Physically fit and capable of working in hot and cold environments
• High attention to quality, safety, and workmanship standards

• Must be willing to work required hours, including standby and call-outs
