We are seeking a skilled Artisan Assistant to join our Maintenance team in Mthatha, Eastern Cape. The successful candidate will assist with the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, plant, buildings, and facilities, ensuring optimal operational effectiveness on site.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment
• Support the Handyman with daily building and facility maintenance tasks
• Work with heavy equipment and plant machinery
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping at all times
• Complete maintenance tasks efficiently and safely
• Work rotational shifts, including overtime and after-hours when required
Minimum Qualifications
• Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
Experience Requirements
• 1–2 years’ experience working as an Artisan Assistant or in a similar maintenance role
Skills and Competencies
• Strong industry and maintenance knowledge
• Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act
• Ability to work well within a team
• Good communication and people skills
• Physically fit and safety-conscious
Working Conditions
