We’re Hiring a Skilled Millwright
Sappi Southern Africa is looking for a qualified and experienced Millwright to join the Engineering team at Ngodwana Mill. This role is critical to ensuring short-term plant availability, safe shift maintenance execution, and continuous improvement in overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Key Responsibilities
As a Millwright, your key duties will include:
• Assigning, scheduling, and completing shift maintenance tasks and improvement opportunities
• Performing mechanical and electrical maintenance in line with engineering best practices
• Reporting plant defects, equipment downtime, and maintenance issues to the Foreman
• Improving master data accuracy and supporting effective work scoping
• Sharing technical knowledge and coaching peers on plant-specific procedures
• Obtaining and adhering to work permits in accordance with company policies
• Conducting 60-second risk assessments before executing maintenance activities
• Selecting and using the correct tools and equipment for each task
• Ensuring all maintenance work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to required standards
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Grade 12 or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
• A recognised Millwright Trade Certificate (SETA or Manpower accredited)
• Minimum of 2 years post-apprenticeship experience
• Proven experience in mechanical and electrical fault-finding within an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of plant maintenance systems and safety procedures
