Glencore is currently recruiting a skilled and safety-focused Artisan Aid (Boilermaker) to support boilermaking and fabrication activities at the Thorncliffe Mine in Steelpoort, Limpopo. This role is ideal for candidates with mining or plant experience who are eager to support qualified Artisans in maintaining high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist qualified Boilermaker Artisans with fabrication, repair, installation, and maintenance of mining and plant equipment
• Support cutting, grinding, welding, fitting, and assembly of steel components under supervision
• Assist with inspections, fault identification, and reporting of defects to the Artisan
• Participate in scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities
• Assist with section inspections and maintenance observations
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards at all times
• Maintain good housekeeping and safe working practices in the workshop and on site
• Report daily work progress and section performance to the Artisan or Supervisor
Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Full N2 Certificate, including relevant boilermaker trade theory
• Applicable Artisan Aid / Artisan Aider Certificate
• Previous experience as an Artisan Aid (Boilermaker) in a mining or plant environment
• Medically fit to work in surface and underground mining conditions
• Knowledge of basic fabrication, welding, and boilermaking processes

• Ability to work effectively as part of a maintenance and production team
• Good communication and reporting skills
• High attention to detail and strong safety awareness
• Willingness to work shifts and meet operational requirements
