Gold One Group Limited is seeking a reliable and experienced Assistant Pumping (Grading A) candidate to support the pumping operations within the Modder East mining section. The role focuses on maintaining pump functionality, preventing flooding, and ensuring continuous water management in underground mining operations. This position is ideal for individuals who understand underground pump systems and want to grow within engineering support roles in the mining industry.
Minimum Requirements
• Grade 10, 11, 12 or equivalent qualification
• 1–2 years’ experience in a mining environment (advantageous)
• Proficient in English and any other official South African language
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of underground water pumps (advantageous)
• South African citizenship
• Clear criminal record
Key Responsibilities
• Provide efficient operational support within the Pumping section of Engineering
• Ensure all pumps within the assigned area are operating efficiently and in good condition
• Report pump failures immediately to prevent flooding of work areas and travelling ways
• Assist with repairs, maintenance, and extension of pump delivery pipes
• Maintain excellent housekeeping around pumps to maximise efficiency
• Assist with pump installations, relocations, and general maintenance
• Follow all instructions from shift supervisors
• Perform all duties in accordance with required engineering standards and specifications
