Gold One Group Limited is recruiting an Assistant: Fitting (Grading A) to support the Engineering Pump Fitting Section at its Modder East operation. This role is ideal for individuals with basic fitting experience, especially in pump systems, who want to develop their technical skills in a mining environment. The position involves assisting artisans, supporting maintenance operations, and ensuring effective pump functionality both underground and on the surface.
Minimum Requirements
• Grade 10, 11, 12 or equivalent qualification
• Proficient in English and any other official South African language
• Good verbal communication skills
• Basic pump fitting background (advantageous)
• 1–2 years’ experience in an industrial environment (essential)
• South African citizenship
• Clear criminal record
Key Responsibilities
• Provide efficient support within the Engineering Pump Fitting Section
• Work according to rotational and cycle shift schedules
• Assist artisans by carrying tools, equipment, and providing hands-on support
• Maintain good housekeeping in and around the workplace
• Disassemble and reassemble pumps and related equipment using hand tools
• Participate in maintenance and breakdown activities for both underground and surface pumps
• Maintain work areas according to mine standards, procedures, and safety practices
