Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Artisan Assistant (W1) to join our team in Lime Acres. The successful candidate will assist artisans in maintaining equipment, performing breakdown services, and supporting operations to ensure optimal machine performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities
• Support artisans with service and breakdown-related activities
• Perform visual inspections on machines and report conditions
• Maintain cleanliness of the workshop, tools, and equipment
• Follow workshop maps and safety guidelines
• Inspect and check wrapping, hoses, and other components
• Relay messages between operational teams
• Assist with both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks
• Report hazardous acts and unsafe working conditions
• Participate in incident and accident investigations
• Utilize correct tools and comply with Sandvik’s SHEQ management system
Qualifications and Skills
• Education: Grade 12 or N3 Technical Qualification (or equivalent)
• Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing workshop environment
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of mechanised mining equipment
• Computer Skills: Basic Excel, data entry, and graphical presentation
• Language: Proficient in English (written and verbal)
• Additional Advantage: First Aid Level 1 certification
• Physical Ability: Fit and medically able to work in a workshop or underground environment
• Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail
