Seriti, a leading company in the mining and metals industry, is looking for an Engineering Operator (B3) to join the team at Kriel Colliery. The successful candidate will assist the engineering artisan with daily tasks, operate mining machinery, and ensure safety and operational standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate mobile machinery and light delivery vehicles (LDVs).
• Support artisans with maintenance and engineering tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping in workshops and vehicles.
• Inspect and identify faults on electrical cables within the reticulation workshop.
• Handle materials, and work safely at heights and in confined spaces.
• Patrol conveyors and report any faults or defects.
• Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, Zivikele Rules, and Seriti’s internal standards.
Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) and Science, or N2 Certificate with Maths and Science.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Ability to work shifts, overtime, standbys, and callouts when required.
• Team player with the ability to work under pressure.
• Valid K53 driver’s license.
• Must pass a practical driving assessment and hold/obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness.
• Willing to undergo a behavioural assessment.
Advantageous
• Code 10 or Code 14 driver’s license.
• N2 Subjects.
• Previous experience in mining or operating earth-moving equipment.
