Maintenance Handyman X3 (Agriculture) – Worcester

Role Purpose
Rainbow Chickens Agriculture is seeking three experienced Maintenance Handymen to join their team in Worcester. The ideal candidates will possess strong electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering skills, responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery, equipment, and infrastructure across poultry operations.
Minimum Qualifications
• Technical Senior Certificate or equivalent (N2 or N3)
• Valid Driver’s Licence (Code 8 or 10 – compulsory)
Experience Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Electrical (70%) and Mechanical maintenance environment
• Previous experience in the poultry industry will be an advantage
Key Knowledge and Skills
• Boilermaking and welding
• Mechanical fitting and repairs
• Single and three-phase electrical systems
• PVC, plastic, and pipe joining
• General plumbing and drainage maintenance
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Maintenance
• Inspect, maintain, and repair all agricultural machinery and equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize breakdowns.
Electrical Maintenance
• Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on agricultural and residential buildings in line with SANS 0142 regulations.
• Troubleshoot and repair single and three-phase systems.
Civil Maintenance
• Maintain and repair water and plumbing systems in both agricultural and residential areas.
• Conduct building and structural maintenance to ensure safety and compliance.
• Inspect and repair drainage and water supply systems.
General Duties
• Supervise and mentor Maintenance Assistants.
• Complete daily maintenance and breakdown job cards.
• Participate in planning and executing mechanical, electrical, and civil projects.
• Adhere to all reasonable management instructions and safety standards.
• Perform standby duties when required.
