About the Role

We are seeking General Miners to join our operations at Lebowa and Mototolo Complex. In this role, you will take legal accountability for construction blasting under the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and support the mining team in executing day-to-day operational tasks.

This position involves a variety of responsibilities across the mining process — from moving men, materials, and ore to assisting in construction activities within the mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections to ensure working areas are safe.

• Adhere to all safety and mining standards.

• Communicate and apply updated operating procedures.

• Manage explosives and prepare blasting areas to required safety standards.

• Monitor mining processes to ensure compliance with operational standards.

• Liaise continuously with supervisors and team members.

• Maintain communication with the Shift Supervisor or Shaft Foreman regarding operations and maintenance.

• Complete accurate shift reports and operational documentation.

• Ensure all job instructions and checklists are accessible to team members.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 certificate (Matric)

• National Certificate NQF Level 3 in Rock Breaking or a valid Underground Blasting Certificate (Hard Rock)

Experience:

• 1 to 3 years of experience as a Miner or Crew Captain

• Trackless mining experience will be an advantage

Additional Requirements:

• Must successfully complete a Medical Fitness Test before appointment
