About the Role

Eskom is recruiting for a skilled Artisan Fitter & Turner to join the Turbo Gen Services Maintenance Department at Hendrina Power Station. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing fitting and turning tasks, ensuring the efficient maintenance and operation of equipment.

This position is open to internal and external candidates.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

• Fitter & Turner Trade Qualification

• Equivalent Fitter qualification registered and recognised by the Government of South Africa

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience in a relevant mechanical or maintenance environment

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fitting and turning duties as required within the maintenance department

• Ensure all work meets Eskom’s safety and quality standards

• Participate in training and upskilling initiatives

• Support production and maintenance operations to ensure efficiency

• Comply with all safety regulations and workplace policies

Required Skills

• Strong fitting and mechanical skills

• Good communication and interpersonal abilities

• Proficient with basic hand and mechanical tools

• Basic planning and problem-solving skills

• Computer literate

Knowledge and Competencies

• Proficient in using mechanical measuring equipment

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tolerances

• Understanding of quality systems and OSHACT 85 of 1993

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
