Job Overview
Premier Aeroton Bakery is seeking a skilled Artisan Assistant to join the Maintenance Department. The successful candidate will support the maintenance team by ensuring the reliability and efficiency of plant equipment. This role is ideal for someone with technical aptitude, a strong work ethic, and hands-on experience in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical support and assist with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
• Participate in on-the-job training and skill development.
• Perform system maintenance, attend to breakdowns, and conduct general plant maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
Required Knowledge and Competencies
• Solid understanding of engineering principles.
• Basic skills in welding, grinding, and painting (advantageous).
• Knowledge of Food Safety Standards and Health & Safety regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.

Minimum Qualifications
• Matric Certificate.
• N2 or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience Requirements
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• 2 years’ experience as an Artisan Assistant will be an added advantage.
Working Conditions
• Factory environment – hot, noisy, and fast-paced.
• Work involves handling heavy plant and mechanical equipment.
• Must be willing to work Saturdays, Sundays, Public Holidays, and Night Shifts as per the shift roster.
