Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Artisan Assistant in Worcester to support our engineering and maintenance teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in mechanical or electrical work, demonstrate a proactive attitude, and be willing to learn and grow within a high-performance environment.
Minimum Qualifications
• Matric / Grade 12 (compulsory)
• Studying towards or holding a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification (advantageous)
• N2 qualification (advantageous)
• Fitting or Fitting & Turning Trade Test (advantageous)
• Relevant technical or engineering experience (minimum of 6 months preferred)
Key Responsibilities
• Assist qualified Artisans with mechanical maintenance and repair tasks
• Support engineering teams in completing technical projects
• Ensure efficient day-to-day running and operation of equipment
• Perform routine maintenance under Artisan supervision
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards in line with OHS Act requirements
• Maintain adherence to ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 standards
• Keep work areas clean and organized (good housekeeping practices)
• Clean, maintain, and operate machinery and tools
• Participate actively as part of a high-performance team
Skills and Competencies
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
• Good understanding of machinery, tools, and technical processes
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required
• Safety-conscious, reliable, and punctual
• Effective communication skills in English
• Strong work ethic with eagerness to learn and grow
