Key Responsibilities
As a Fitter in Pietermaritzburg, your duties will include:
• Performing planned maintenance across the manufacturing facility
• Handling breakdown maintenance on a roster basis
• Carrying out turning and milling work when required in the workshop
• Ensuring compliance with safety, housekeeping, and 20 Keys standards
• Submitting BBS (Behaviour-Based Safety) reports and suggestions
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the plant
Minimum Requirements
• Qualified Fitter with a minimum of N4 Mechanical Certificate
• Millwright qualification (advantageous)
• Completed apprenticeship with a Trade Test Certificate (essential)
• Minimum of 3 years’ maintenance experience in a production environment
• Previous experience in an Animal Feed Manufacturing Plant (essential)
• Fluent in English with working knowledge of Zulu
• Ability to work overtime, shifts, and standby duties on a roster basis
• Strong safety awareness and commitment to housekeeping standards
• Proactive team player with the ability to work independently
• Must have a valid cell phone and reliable transport
