Position: Assistant Technician – Banking
As an Assistant Technician, you will support the Installations Technician in setting up and maintaining advanced security systems for clients in the banking sector. This role is ideal for individuals who are technically inclined, detail-oriented, and eager to grow in the electronic security industry.
Minimum Requirements
• PSIRA registered (Grade C) – compulsory
• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification
• At least 1 year experience as a Wireman
• Basic electrical/electronic knowledge (advantageous)
• Ability to work under pressure with high attention to detail
Key Responsibilities
• Assist technicians with the installation of alarm and security equipment
• Help with the removal of old systems from client premises
• Run new cabling, drill holes, mount detectors, panels, contacts, and lights
• Connect detectors and alarm control panels
• Power-up and walk-test alarm systems
• Support with intercoms, CCTV, and access control installations
• Report equipment or tool limitations to the technician
• Ensure proper handover and demonstrate user functions to clients
• Maintain cleanliness of work vehicles and client premises after installations
