Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for the Mechanic Assistant job at ALS Group, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
• Grade 12 with a matric certificate.
• A valid driver’s license (Code B minimum).
• Must be medically declared fit by an occupational health practitioner.
• Must be a South African citizen.
• Ability to work shifts when required.
• Fluent in English or Afrikaans (read, write, and speak).
• At least 3 years of mechanical experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Mechanic Assistant, you will be responsible for:
• Assisting the responsible mechanic at designated breakdowns.
• Ensuring work is completed when breakdowns are fixed.
• Complying with Mine Health and Safety Act regulations.
• Contributing to company productivity goals.
• Taking responsibility and ownership of machinery services and maintenance.
