DRA Water, a division of Minopex, is seeking a qualified local individual for the position of Plant Assistant on a project-based fixed-term contract at the Tweefontein Water Treatment Plant in Witbank, Mpumalanga.

Purpose of the Role
As a Plant Assistant, you will be responsible for:
• Performing plant-related fieldwork and test work
• Making process adjustments as instructed
• Conducting plant inspections, walkdowns, and routines
• Identifying safety hazards and faulty equipment
• Ensuring smooth water treatment plant operations
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Risk Management
• Proactively identify potential hazards.
2. Plant Operation
• Ensure water plant production is optimized within process parameters.
• Adjust processes as directed by the Process Controller or Plant Supervisor.
• Conduct walkdowns, inspections, and safety checks.
• Monitor and top up chemical stock levels when required.
• Perform manual chemical dosing where needed.
• Collect representative samples and conduct basic laboratory analyses.
• Start, stop, and isolate plant equipment as per instructions.
• Monitor dam, pond, and tank levels regularly.
3. Record Keeping & Sampling
• Maintain accurate shift logs and plant data.
• Follow correct sampling procedures and analysis methods.
