Redpath South Africa is seeking an experienced Qualified Boilermaker to join our mining operations in Northam, Limpopo. This role focuses on shaft repairs, maintenance, equipment installation, and ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards.
Minimum Requirements
• Matric certificate or equivalent qualification
• Section 13 Trade Test (Sec 26D) as a qualified boilermaker
• Competent B Certificate
• Valid driver’s license and reliable own transport
• Medically fit for underground mining work
• Valid First Aid Certificate
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
• Minimum 3 years’ underground experience as a qualified artisan
• Proven shaft repairs and maintenance experience
• Knowledge of workshop procedures regarding flame cutting
• Experience with pipe column installation and maintenance
• Ability to maintain quality engineering standards
• Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety standards and regulations
Key Responsibilities
• Report all incidents, accidents, unsafe conditions, and unsafe acts
• Construct and erect structures and infrastructure
• Install, repair, and maintain mining equipment
• Conduct risk assessments for every task and implement required safety measures
• Ensure tools and equipment are in good condition, safe to use, and adequate for the job
• Perform all legal inspections within required time intervals and maintain accurate reports
• Supervise subordinates and manage the maintenance schedule
• Ensure all spares, tools, and materials are available for servicing
• Regularly complete and sign operator pre-use checklists
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and that all staff have proper safety gear and training
