About the Opportunity
Motus Hino Parow is seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice Level 1 to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about repairing commercial motor vehicles and eager to train as a Diesel Mechanic Technician. The successful candidate will participate in a structured Apprentice Training Programme for up to three years.
You will work closely with experienced technicians, gaining valuable hands-on skills while contributing to vehicle servicing and repairs.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with the repair of vehicles under the supervision of a qualified technician
• Remove and replace parts/units from vehicles
• Jack up vehicles and place trestles securely
• Lubricate and change oils according to manual specifications (under supervision)
• Remove and replace wheels
• Replace air and oil filters
• Assist with various mechanical repairs
• Remove and fit vehicle batteries
• Clean mechanical parts and maintain a tidy work environment
• Attend prescribed technical/level training courses
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working order
• Keep overalls and work area clean
• Follow all safety rules and company policies
• Perform other reasonable duties as required
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
• Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science
• A valid driver’s license (advantageous)
• Clear criminal record
• Basic technical skills will be an added advantage
