About the Opportunity
Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine invites applications for the Fitter & Turner Learnership (LED). This structured 3-year programme is designed to develop skilled artisans by combining institutional training with hands-on workplace experience.
In support of its Employment Equity Policy, Siyanda Bakgatla Mine will give preference to historically disadvantaged South Africans, in line with affirmative action principles.
Purpose of the Learnership
The purpose of this learnership is to:
• Provide learners with exposure to both theoretical and practical learning.
• Equip learners with the skills and experience needed to obtain an Artisan qualification (NQF Level 3–4).
• Ensure success in both on-the-job and off-the-job training environments.
• Meet the operational skills needs of Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine.
Responsibilities
Participants in the programme will be required to:
• Comply with all terms of the Learning Agreement.
• Understand their trade and proactively develop their skills.
• Take responsibility for their training and seek support when needed.
• Demonstrate competence according to the 3-year apprenticeship plan.
• Apply skills in the workplace to support operational productivity.
• Engage in a combination of theory classes and practical training on-site.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have one of the following:
• Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Natural Science, or
• N2 Certificate with four trade-specific subjects
Knowledge and Skills
• Ability to communicate in English
• Positive attitude towards learning and development
• Willingness to work in a structured training programme
• Basic technical aptitude and work ethic
Remuneration
This learnership offers a market-related stipend throughout the training period.
