About the Opportunity
Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine invites suitable candidates to apply for the Boilermaker Plater Learnership (LED) opportunity. This programme offers valuable workplace experience and theoretical learning that leads to an Artisan qualification registered on the NQF (Level 3–4).
This opportunity is part of our commitment to transformation and equity in the workplace. Preference will be given to historically disadvantaged South Africans in accordance with the Employment Equity Policy and affirmative action principles.
Purpose of the Learnership
The learnership is designed to:
• Equip learners with practical and theoretical skills to qualify as Artisans.
• Provide structured learning both in the classroom and in the workplace.
• Support Siyanda Bakgatla Mine’s goal of developing skilled tradespeople to meet industry standards.
Responsibilities
Participants in the learnership programme will be expected to:
• Adhere to the terms and conditions outlined in the Learning Agreement.
• Commit to the full 3-year training programme.
• Combine on-the-job experience with theoretical training.
• Demonstrate competency and progress according to the apprenticeship schedule.
• Take personal responsibility for learning and performance.
• Ask questions and actively participate in all aspects of training.
Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible for this learnership, applicants must have either:
• Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Natural Science, or
• N2 Certificate with four trade-specific subjects
Required Skills
• Basic communication skills in English
• Eagerness to learn and develop
• Good work ethic and teamwork abilities
• Willingness to work in a mining environment
Remuneration
The learnership offers a market-related stipend for the duration of the programme.
