Role Purpose
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join our dynamic team within the Facilities Services sector. The successful candidate will perform timeous, high-quality planned and emergency maintenance on all electrical equipment in line with our business maintenance strategy and Client SLAs. This role requires extensive experience in industrial electrical systems, mining environments, and facilities maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform on-site electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs as per scheduled and emergency job cards
• Deliver comprehensive planned and reactive maintenance services on all electrical systems and minor building works
• Liaise with the Business Control Centre to manage maintenance-related alarms and ensure full system restoration post-maintenance
• Execute all maintenance tasks in compliance with Client and Company standards
• Conduct routine and preventative maintenance according to approved schedules
• Ensure compliance with OHS Act, internal SLAs, and maintenance plans
• Diagnose and report potential hazards or faults on client equipment
• Maintain quality assurance and timely completion of fieldwork requests
• Provide real-time feedback to Supervisors and Clients on the status of operations
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
• Matric (Senior Certificate)
• N3 – N6 in Electrical Engineering
• Trade Tested Electrician (3-Phase)
• Wireman’s License (advantageous)
• Valid South African Driver’s License
• Minimum 2 years of electrical maintenance experience
• Minimum 2 years in the mining industry
• Practical experience with air breakers and PLCs
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• SAP system knowledge
• In-depth knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act
• Competent in electrical articles 13, 18, or 28
• Completed on-site training (SOPs, HIRA, Fatigue Management, etc.)
