Komatsu South Africa is looking for a dedicated and experienced Artisan Assistant to join our team at the Phalaborwa Workshop. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a technical or workshop environment and a strong passion for heavy earthmoving machinery.
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:
• Grade 12 / Matric (Essential)
• Forklift, Crane, and Welding Certificates (Advantageous but not required)
Experience:
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a general workshop or technical environment (Advantageous)
• Familiarity with workshop tools and basic machine repair
Knowledge & Skills:
• Valid Code 8 Driver’s License (Essential)
• Code 4 Driver’s License (Advantageous)
• Passion for working with Heavy Earthmoving Machinery
• Basic knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist artisans with machine and component assembly/disassembly
• Clean components and machines as needed
• Perform basic maintenance and maintain workshop cleanliness
• Operate Komatsu machinery and drive company service vehicles
• Follow all safety procedures in a high-risk environment
• Work overtime, standby shifts, and travel when required
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic tools and their uses
• Actively participate in team-based tasks and projects
