Job Description

• Assist artisans with breakdowns.

• Perform small breakdowns and installations independently.

• Disassemble and assemble equipment for cleaning.

• Execute preventative maintenance schedules.

• Complete job cards accurately.

• Carry out ad hoc duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).

• N2–N6 qualifications will be advantageous.

• Practical experience with tools and in a factory/workshop environment.

• Proven good work track record.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Maintenance Assistant or similar role.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Strip production machinery for cleaning, sanitising, and greasing.

• Perform minor repairs such as replacing bearings, bolts, nuts, and wire meshes.

• Conduct daily machine inspections and report defects.

• Ensure cleaning schedules are completed on time.

• Identify parts for replacement and determine additional work needed.

• Recommend activities to enhance machine performance.

• Assist with daily machine start-ups and set-ups.

• Check and maintain oil levels; follow lubrication schedules (daily/weekly/monthly).

• Assist in loading and unloading various types of equipment.

• Clean excess grease from machinery when necessary.

• Support artisans during maintenance repairs.

• Maintain cleanliness in work areas and workshop frequently.

• Support the Ecowise cleaning team by covering electrical components before cleaning.

• Comply with Quality and Food Safety standards.

• Perform inspections according to the internal audit plan.
