Tharisa Minerals is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician or Millwright to join their dynamic maintenance team in Pretoria, Gauteng. The main objective of this position is to carry out plant preventative maintenance, repairs, and refurbishments to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime.
Role Context and Responsibilities:
• Perform corrective and planned maintenance as directed
• Diagnose faults and repair plant equipment efficiently
• Conduct risk assessments before executing tasks
• Ensure compliance with workplace access control and SHE (Safety, Health & Environmental) policies
• Complete requisitions for spares and maintain stock levels
• Execute installations in line with ISO 9001 quality standards
• Operate various tools and machines such as grinders, drills, and saws
• Perform gas and electric welding, brazing, and soldering as needed
• Manage OH&S and environmental risks within the plant
• Liaise with production foremen and supervisors on maintenance work and equipment availability
• Provide technical support for mining chemical and mineral processing technologies
• Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment to standard safety regulations
• Support sales and account management in mining and related industries on a national and cross-border scale
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:
• Grade 12 / N3
• Qualified Trade: Electrician or Millwright
• 5 to 10 years of relevant hands-on experience
• Must have own reliable transport
• Medically fit to work on-site
