Sappi Southern Africa is hiring! Join our team at Ngodwana Mill as an Artisan Assistant and contribute to the maintenance and reliability of our equipment and plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
As an Artisan Assistant, you will:
Perform maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on equipment related to air-conditioning, electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems.
Assist qualified artisans with equipment breakdowns and scheduled maintenance tasks.
Obtain the necessary licences for operating mobile equipment and for becoming an “authorised workman” under Sappi’s lock-out procedures.
Use and maintain tools appropriately for the job.
Safely transport equipment and materials within the workplace.
Comply with safety procedures, waste disposal regulations, and housekeeping standards.
Support the development of a safe working environment and ensure all work complies with statutory requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science, or an N3 Engineering Science qualification (NQF Level 4).
Valid driver’s license.
Basic technical knowledge and a willingness to learn and assist in various maintenance tasks.
Strong focus on safety, compliance, and teamwork.
