We are looking for a qualified Plumber to perform functional plumbing maintenance within the Business Unit. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in plumbing systems, maintenance, inspections, and compliance with health and safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
• Grade 12 / Standard 10 (Technical) (Essential).
• N2 Relevant Trade Subjects (Essential).
• Plumber Trade Certificate (MQA/QCTO) (Essential).
Experience
• 2-3 years of relevant plumbing experience in an operational environment (Essential).
Additional Requirements
• Psychometric Assessment (Essential).
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential).
• Competence: Core MQA Modules Assessments (Essential).
• Competence: On-the-Job MQA Modules Assessments (Essential).
Key Responsibilities
Construction & Routine Maintenance
• Maintain plumbing systems according to original specifications.
• Perform work as per job card requests and operational requirements.
• Complete plumbing installations (e.g., toilet pans, basins) and conduct testing before sign-off.
Inspection & Quality Control
• Inspect tools, equipment, and instruments before use.
• Inspect vehicles, machines, and mechanical equipment to identify defects.
• Report defects immediately and carry out scheduled inspections and repairs.
Material & Resource Management
• Use available resources (people & equipment) efficiently.
• Ensure quality maintenance and installations within the functional area.
Work Coordination & Technical Support
• Receive, complete, and return job cards accurately.
• Guide and train Artisan Aides/Trainees to enhance their skills.
• Ensure availability of stock, spares, tools, and equipment to avoid delays.
• Assist Foreman with plumbing infrastructure inspections.
Health & Safety Compliance
• Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Identify and report unsafe practices or hazardous situations.
• Wear and ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
