Job Opportunity: Welder – Plant & Site Maintenance
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Welder to provide welding support and maintenance services for plant and site operations. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in welding, fabrication, and safety compliance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Welding & Fabrication
• Perform welding tasks in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Apply metallurgical knowledge, geometry, and welding techniques to determine the correct welding methods and equipment.
• Carry out simple steel fabrication tasks as required.
• Ensure all maintenance, repair, and construction work is properly recorded.
Safety & Compliance
• Operate safety equipment and follow safe work practices.
• Ensure compliance with site-specific safety regulations and OHS Act requirements.
• Be trained and able to operate emergency safety equipment (e.g., breathing apparatus and air mask sets).
Maintenance & Coordination
• Provide welding support for maintenance and repair work across the plant.
• Monitor the functioning of plant equipment and report findings.
• Order required spares and materials from stores.
• Work closely with production and workshop personnel to coordinate maintenance and repair tasks.
Training & Development
• Guide, coach, and mentor Apprentices, identifying their training needs, progress, and skills development.
