Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician (Millwright) to provide maintenance services for MMUs, trucks, LDVs, machinery, and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to work independently while ensuring optimal equipment performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Equipment Reliability
• Execute scheduled and routine maintenance on trucks, LDVs, and machinery.
• Conduct engineering inspections, identify faults, and implement proactive maintenance solutions.
• Optimize vehicle reliability by continuously improving preventative maintenance systems.
• Provide accurate feedback to the Engineering Team Manager on equipment condition, spare part requirements, and completed repairs.
• Perform health and safety inspections and take corrective action as needed.
• Assist in the training and development of Learner Technician Operators.
• Participate in World Class Maintenance Initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
General Requirements
• Must be able to work overtime and standby shifts.
• Must be able to perform full-time afternoon shifts.
• Must have own reliable transport.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• Willingness to undergo cross-training in electrical and instrumentation skills.
Qualifications & Experience
• Matric (Grade 12).
• Qualified Artisan (Trade Test/Red Seal Millwright) with 3-5 years of experience.
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems (advantageous).
• PLC programming experience (advantageous).
• Computer literacy and knowledge of African languages (advantageous).
• Willingness to be trained on instrumentation and electrical equipment.
