Are you an experienced blaster looking for a new opportunity in the mining industry? A reputable company is seeking to recruit a Junior Blaster to join their team at Khanye Colliery in Bronkhorstspruit.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Valid Blasting Certificate – Opencast
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Code 10 Driver’s License
• Ability to obtain a medical certificate of fitness
• Strong knowledge of opencast mining operations
• Computer literacy (Excel & Word)
• Proficiency in reading and writing English
Experience:
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Perform blasting duties under the supervision of the Blaster
• Ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act and all regulations
• Conduct pre-blasting checklists and safety checks
• Assist in water pumping within the section
• Handle and offload explosives with the Blaster
• Perform blasting calculations and charge up the face
• Act as a guard during blasting operations
• Maintain good housekeeping and participate in the mine safety program
• Order and manage explosives stock
• Ensure the safety of the blasting bench
