A well-established mining company is looking to recruit two experienced Diesel Mechanics at Gugulethu Colliery, located within the Msukaligwa Municipality.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate (Essential)
• Technical Degree (Advantageous)
• Valid Code 10 Driver’s License
Experience Required:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in earthmoving equipment repairs & maintenance
• At least 1 year of mining experience
Other Skills & Competencies:
• Willingness to work shifts, nightshifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle technical aspects
• Ability to pass a medical evaluation
• No criminal record (Strict requirement)
• Experience in routine inspections and preventive maintenance
• Commitment to safety and environmental standards
• Ability to work independently, under pressure, and multitask
• OEM training (e.g., CAT, Volvo) is an added advantage
• Must be physically fit and energetic
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Maintain and repair TMM (Trackless Mobile Machinery) equipment in the open cast mine
• Conduct hazard assessments and ensure compliance with mine safety procedures
• Perform maintenance and repairs on:
• ADTs, Excavators, Graders, Dozers, Pit Pumps, and Lighting Plants
• Ensure all equipment is safe and operational
• Align with planned maintenance schedules and maintain accurate records
• Communicate effectively to minimize production delays
• Adhere to safety, health, and environmental (SHE) standards to achieve ZERO HARM
