• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a maintenance and engineering team.
Applicants should ensure that they have the relevant qualifications, trade test documentation, licences, and experience before submitting their applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for performing a range of electrical maintenance and engineering duties to support the daily operations of the Milling Division.
1. Electrical Installation and Maintenance
Electricians will install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and equipment used in the manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities will include checking electrical installations, identifying potential problems, replacing faulty components, and ensuring that machinery operates according to the required technical specifications.
Candidates must be able to carry out maintenance activities safely and efficiently while minimising unnecessary interruptions to production.
2. Electrical Fault Finding and Troubleshooting
The position requires strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Electricians will investigate electrical breakdowns, identify the causes of equipment failures, and implement appropriate corrective measures.
They must be able to use their technical knowledge and practical experience to diagnose problems accurately and restore equipment to working condition.
The ability to respond to unexpected electrical failures is important, particularly in a production environment where equipment downtime can affect operational performance.
3. Planned and Preventative Maintenance
Successful applicants will perform planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance activities.
Preventative maintenance involves inspecting and servicing electrical equipment before faults develop into major problems.
These activities help improve equipment reliability, reduce unexpected breakdowns, extend the useful life of machinery, and support continuous production.
Electricians must follow established maintenance schedules and report any defects that may affect the safe or efficient operation of equipment.
4. Reading Electrical Drawings and Technical Documents
Candidates must be able to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
This knowledge will help them understand electrical circuits, identify components, trace connections, and carry out repairs according to the relevant technical requirements.
The ability to interpret electrical documentation accurately is essential when troubleshooting complex systems and working on industrial machinery.
5. Testing Electrical Systems and Equipment
Electricians will test electrical installations, circuits, and equipment using suitable measuring instruments and diagnostic tools.
The advertised position requires competency in using instruments such as multimeters and insulation resistance testers, commonly known as Meggers.
Candidates should understand how to use these instruments correctly to assess electrical conditions, identify faults, and verify that equipment is operating safely.
Testing must be conducted in accordance with the applicable safety procedures and technical standards.
6. Working with Different Electrical Voltages
The successful candidates must have experience working with electrical systems operating at voltages ranging from 24V DC to 400V AC.
This includes understanding the relevant electrical components, testing procedures, and troubleshooting methods required for different types of systems.
Applicants should be familiar with the precautions necessary when working with electrical equipment and must follow appropriate isolation and safety procedures.

Electricians may need to investigate drive-related faults, assist with troubleshooting, and support maintenance activities to ensure that connected equipment operates correctly.
8. Siemens PLC Systems
Candidates must have experience tracing inputs and outputs (I/O) on Siemens programmable logic controller (PLC) systems.
This knowledge is important when investigating faults involving industrial control systems, sensors, actuators, and production machinery.
Electricians should be able to follow electrical connections, identify relevant input and output signals, and assist in determining why equipment or a control sequence is not functioning as expected.
Experience with industrial automation and control systems will be beneficial in carrying out these responsibilities.
9. Maintenance Records and Computerised Systems
Successful applicants will maintain accurate maintenance records and complete job cards using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or the relevant maintenance management system used by the company.
Accurate recordkeeping helps the maintenance team track equipment performance, document completed repairs, monitor recurring faults, and plan future maintenance activities.
Candidates should also be comfortable using computers to process and record technical information.
