Key Responsibilities
- Provide efficient support to the Engineering (Pumping) section.
- Ensure underground water pumps remain operational and in good working condition.
- Report pump failures immediately to prevent flooding in working areas and travelling ways.
- Assist with repairing, maintaining, and extending delivery pipelines.
- Support the installation, relocation, and maintenance of underground pumps.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards to maximize pump efficiency.
- Follow instructions from shift supervisors and engineering personnel.
- Perform duties according to company standards, mining regulations, and engineering procedures.
- Comply with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and Gold One Group Limited’s safety standards.
- Promote a safe working environment by following the company’s safety motto: “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely.”
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10, Grade 11, Grade 12 (Matric), or an equivalent qualification.
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in a mining environment will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of underground water pumps is beneficial.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in English and any of South Africa’s 11 official languages.
- South African citizenship.
- Clear criminal record.
