Eskom Artisan Armature Winder (Rotor Section) 2026

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

• A Trade Test as an Armature Winder or another recognised Electrical Trade.
• An equivalent qualification recognised by the Government of South Africa.
• At least two (2) years’ relevant post-qualification experience.
• Computer literacy.
• Knowledge of generators and associated electrical equipment.
• The ability to work independently and within a team.

Previous experience in industrial electrical maintenance or generator refurbishment will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be expected to:

• Maintain turbo generators and related electrical equipment.
• Strip, inspect, repair, and refurbish generator components.
• Perform rotor rewinding activities.
• Assemble and test repaired equipment.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality.
• Comply with Eskom’s health and safety procedures.
• Support production and maintenance activities.
• Participate in technical training and skills development.
• Complete maintenance tasks within scheduled timeframes.
• Work effectively with supervisors and fellow artisans.
• Prepare maintenance reports and relevant documentation.
