About the Section Mining Assistant Role
Ivanplats is currently looking for a Section Mining Assistant to support underground mining operations. This role is suited for someone who is hands-on, reliable, and eager to grow within the mining industry.
As a Section Mining Assistant, you will work closely with supervisors and mining teams to ensure that daily operations in your section run smoothly. You will assist with coordinating tasks, supporting production activities, and ensuring safety procedures are followed at all times.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, your duties will include:
• Assisting with daily underground mining activities within your assigned section
• Supporting supervisors and team members with operational tasks
• Helping coordinate work to ensure production targets are met
• Monitoring work areas and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions
• Ensuring compliance with safety procedures and mining regulations
• Assisting with equipment handling and basic tasks as required
• Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors
• Maintaining a clean and organised work environment
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this role, you should have:
• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
• Basic understanding of underground mining operations (advantageous)
• Previous mining experience (preferred but not always required)
