About the Chemical Process Operator Learner Programme
AECI Agri Health is offering an exciting Chemical Process Operator Learner opportunity at its Modderfontein site. This learnership is ideal for young South Africans who are passionate about chemical manufacturing, plant operations, and industrial processes.
The programme provides NQF Level 2 Chemical Process Operations training, combining theoretical learning with practical, on-the-job experience in a chemical plant environment.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
As a Chemical Process Operator Learner, your duties will include:
• Completing NQF Level 2 unit standards in Chemical Process Operations
• Handling the filling and emptying of bags, drums, and bulk containers
• Loading and offloading bulk bags, raw materials, and liquid chemicals
• Performing general housekeeping across all plant areas
• Operating plant equipment under the supervision of a qualified plant operator
• Accurately completing production, process, and operational documentation
• Monitoring and managing plant processes once declared competent
• Working safely at heights and in confined spaces when required
• Maintaining medical fitness to work in a chemical plant environment
• Undergoing forklift operation training and operating a forklift when required
• Working shifts and overtime as per operational needs
• Following instructions from the Team Leader
• Ensuring strict compliance with SHEQ and PSM standards
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements (Essential)
To qualify for this learnership, applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science
• Medically fit to operate a forklift (training will be provided)
• Willing to maintain medical fitness to renew a forklift driver’s licence
• Basic computer literacy, including data entry and MS Office
• Ability to work in an industrial and chemical plant environment
Age Requirement
• Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old
