About the Programme
The Lift Mechanic Apprenticeship Programme offers structured technical training, on-the-job experience, and mentorship from industry professionals. Successful candidates will gain hands-on exposure to the installation, servicing, and maintenance of elevators and escalators while developing critical trade and customer service skills.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Science
OR
• N2 / N3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Electrical Trade Test qualification (advantageous)
• 35 years of age or younger
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Office)
• Understanding of customer relations and client interaction
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment

• Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong technical, analytical, and mechanical skills

Physical & Medical Requirements
Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be:
• 100% medically fit
• Able to stand, walk, climb, balance, and work at heights
• Comfortable climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding at job sites
• Able to lift and/or move objects of up to 15 kg
• Possess good vision, including close, distance, colour, peripheral, and depth perception
