Programme Overview

Govan Mbeki Municipality invites unemployed, trained firefighters to apply for its Firefighter Internship Programme. The programme aims to develop critical firefighting skills and create a sustainable pool of young firefighters to serve the local community.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following:

• Grade 12

• Age between 20 – 35 years

• Fire Fighter I

• Fire Fighter II

• Hazmat Awareness

• First Aid Level 3

• Valid Code C driver’s licence (EC will be an added advantage)

• Physically and mentally fit

• Unemployed and trained in firefighting

Added Advantage:

• Hazmat Operational

Required Documents

Applications must include:

• Fully completed Official Municipal Application Form

• Detailed CV

• Certified copy of South African ID

• Certified copies of qualifications

• Copy of municipal services account

• SAQA verification (for foreign qualifications)

Applications submitted without the official application form will not be considered.
