Purpose of the Role
The Engineering Assistant – Multi Discipline (UG) will provide multi-discipline engineering and technical support to Engineering Foremen and Artisans. The role focuses on assisting with low-complexity, high-volume tasks to ensure efficient engineering operations underground.
Key Responsibilities
• Accompany Artisans during inspections and maintenance tasks
• Ensure availability of tools, materials, and spare parts before work commences
• Assist with general labour and multi-disciplinary engineering support
• Support operational teams with equipment maintenance within the assigned area
• Load, dispatch, and transport materials and equipment to work sites
• Control and manage materials, workshop machinery, and equipment
• Provide assistance to all trades (Artisans) within and outside the team
• Safely use basic engineering tools and equipment
Minimum Qualifications
• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
• Engineering Assistant Certificate of Competency
Experience Required
• Minimum of 2 years relevant engineering or mining experience
Knowledge & Skills
• Semi-skilled engineering abilities with relevant certificates (advantageous)
• Basic understanding of engineering tools and practices
• Good communication skills in English
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions accurately
