Artisan Aid – Mechanical & Facilities Maintenance (Permanent Role)

Tsebo Facilities Solutions is currently recruiting an experienced Artisan Aid to join its Facilities Management and Engineering Services team in Rustenburg, North West. This is a permanent artisan job opportunity suited for qualified mechanical professionals with strong hands-on experience in maintenance, repairs, and installation of mechanical systems.

The successful candidate will support and supervise mechanical operations, ensuring all equipment and systems comply with South African legislation, safety standards, and Tsebo operational procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems

• Conduct fault finding, diagnostics, and root cause analysis on mechanical breakdowns

• Assemble, install, maintain, and repair piping systems, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatic equipment

• Inspect and test mechanical systems to ensure SHEQ and statutory compliance

• Complete accurate maintenance reports, job cards, and technical documentation

• Supervise contractors, assistants, and junior staff when required

• Promote and maintain a safe working environment in line with Tsebo SHEQ policies

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge with practical onsite experience

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals

• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Excellent problem-solving, time management, and troubleshooting skills

• Ability to work in facilities, hospitality, and client-facing environments

• Strong teamwork, communication, and supervision abilities

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• N3 Mechanical Engineering qualification with completed apprenticeship

• Trade Test Certificate – Fitter (Red Seal advantageous)

• 3–5 years’ proven experience in:

• Mechanical fitting and welding

• Pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics

• HVAC systems

• Pipe repairs and installations

• Rigging and electric motor repairs
